8-Letter Words Starting With These Letters

When you’re playing your favorite word game, in the vast majority of them, you will receive 7 tiles with letters on them to make a word (e.g. Scrabble, Words With Friends, plus other imitations.)

So the great thing for me about 8-letter words is that it lets you clear your rack. There is no better feeling in Scrabble than getting rid of all of your tiles in one turn. It feels like a real achievement.

So let’s take a look at how we can actually do that. 

The good news is that there is plenty of choice. There are a total of 42,182 8-letter words in the dictionary.

S is always a good place to start. There are 5,360 8-letter words that start with S (e.g. SERVICE, STUDENTS, SELECTED, SOUTHERN).

But there are also 3,747 8-letter words that start with the letter C. Here you can have words such as COMPLETE, CONSUMER, CONTRACT or get fancy with CHEQUING for the big points.
