How to generate words with extra letters
Did you know, you can also adjust the tool to generate words including additional letters? This functionality is particularly useful in games that include a word rack and a board, as the letters on the board can often be combined with additional words already played, expanding the maximum word count. When applied, it will help expand your list of solutions and give you new ideas to play in your upcoming turn.
- To generate words that include extra letters, use the wildcard symbol “?” in the “Letters” field.
- When using the wildcard symbol, it should be placed directly to the side of the other letters entered.
- A maximum of two wildcards are permitted per search.
- As an example, entering “RICAH??” into the “Letters” field will allow Word Scramble Help tool to provide the 7-letter words “ARCHAIC”, “CASHIER” and ”GRAPHIC” as potential solutions.
To find interesting playable words that help you combine the letters in your word rack with words already played on the board, throw a couple of wildcards into your search and reap the rewards of clever play!
Word Scramble Help for Jumble
Jumble: That Scrambled Word Game was created in 1954 and is a popular word game found in many daily newspapers.
- The objective of the game is primarily to solve two 5-letter anagrams and two 6-letter anagrams.
- Certain letters in the four anagrams solutions are circled; these must be rearranged by themselves to form a final anagram.
- The final anagram should not be solved until all previous anagrams have been completed.
- For additional help with the final anagram, Jumble provides a cartoon picture to the player which includes a related caption.
The Word Scramble Help tool can provide some well-deserved assistance with Jumble when you find yourself out of ideas. Just add the letters available to you from your unsolved anagrams one at a time, allowing the tool to provide you with a list of possible solutions. If the final puzzle in a Jumble has multiple words, you can enter all of the letters available to you and specify the total word length to be equal to either of the words, to reveal some potential answers.
How to solve a word scramble
Word scrambles are anagram solving games in which the player needs to find one or more words based upon words which have an incorrect letter order. Different people apply different methods when solving these particular puzzles, such as:
- Identifying the first & last letter: Once these have been identified, it should become much easier to find the solution. Jumble the remaining letters between the two end letters and the solution can be visualized more easily.
- Making a word circle: Take each of the letters in the scrambled word and arrange them into a circle. Doing so will prevent you from reading the word from left-to-right, helping you to reveal new words.
- Applying patterns: Often, certain letters appear in combination with other letters or are more likely to appear at specific locations within a word. Identify and apply these rules to give you a better chance at solving the word scramble.
- Using hints: If the word game you are playing has any hints already present or revealable, try to use them to give you a nudge when you come to a dead-end.
If you have tried all of the above but are still struggling to solve a word scramble, you can try our Word Scramble Help tool to get you out of a jam!
